on streamlining the hazop/lopa process

We help high-risk industries streamline safety processes, reduce operational risk, and stay ahead of regulatory requirements. From HAZOP/LOPA facilitation to full-scale RMP/PSM program support, our team delivers precise, actionable solutions that protect your people, your assets, and your bottom line.

"...and the regulator clapped!"

Presented by Chris Robinson at the 2023 Global Center on Process Safety (GCPS)

Many industrial sites struggle to achieve consistently strong business performance in Process Safety Management (PSM).  For these work sites, leading indicators may show that there is good participation in process safety activities, but unfortunately the process safety incident rate remains above targets.

Process Safety management training

Teaches regulatory requirements for OSHA PSM and EPA RMP. Provides strategies for improved management of process safety. Advantages of the Nebula Course:

  • Taught by an instructor with a diverse background in process safety, who has worked in the field across multiple industries, not a lifelong consultant!

  • Content is tailored for the worksite, depending on the type of operations and the EPA RMP Program Level (1, 2, 3, or 4 for some California Operations)

  • Training includes an interactive learning module highlighting Human Factors and how they can contribute to incidents

  • Strategies are shared to promote worker engagement, strengthen the culture, and improve process safety performance

Battery Manufacturing Safety Considerations

Battery manufacturing involves the handling of flammable solvents, reactive materials, fine powders, corrosive electrolytes, and high stored electrical energy. Many battery technologies rely on manufacturing steps such as anode and cathode slurry preparation, coating, drying, electrolyte handling, and formation that closely resemble traditional chemical processing operations.

While not all battery manufacturing facilities are formally covered under OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard (29 CFR 1910.119), the hazards present are consistent with those the standard was designed to address.
